Haikyuu!!, or High Jump in English, is about Hinata and Kageyama, two players who originally stand at the opposite side of the volleyball net – plus are personality-wise polar opposites too - and are, due to the fact that they attend the same high school, forced to work together. During that process, they learn the importance of a team and that you don’t lose or win alone. The show eventually does focus on the entire Karasuno volleyball team (and on other teams too), but it’s still obvious who the main characters are.   As with most sports anime, the plot starts with Hinata and Kageyama meeting (and fighting), then joining the Karasuno volleyball team, and the team battling others all the way to the Inter-Highs. The volleyball aspects are well explained though and nicely weaved into dialogues. We learn about the libero when the libero appears. Naruto   is a Japanese manga  series written and illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto . It tells the story of Naruto Uzumaki , a young ninja  who seeks recognition from his peers and dreams of becoming the Hokage, the leader of his village. On the day of Naruto Uzumaki's birth the village of Konoha was attacked by the 9-tailed fox demon. In order to protect the village Naruto's father the 4th hokage sacrificed his life and sealed the demon in his new born son. 13 years later Naruto graduates the ninja academy and becomes a shinobi with goal to be the hokage of the village. Joining him are rival Sasuke Uchiha who attempts to gain power to avenge his clan after they were murdered by his older brother Itachi. And Sakura Haruno who is Naruto's love interest who of course loves his rival Sasuke. But when itachi returns to the village after the chunnin exams and Sasuke proves to be powerless against him.   Even if you have never read or seen Hunter x Hunter  , it is an anime and manga series that has become one of the most famous around, but not necessarily for good reasons. While it remains one of the most popular series released by Weekly Shonen Jump, the manga by unfortunately frail Yoshihiro Togashi has become infamous for numerous  hiatuses. Set in a different version of the world to our own, it begins on Whale Island, the home of Gon Freecss. Gon is a young boy who wishes to follow in his father Ging’s footsteps and become a Hunter, a licensed individual who is tasked with hunting all kinds of things. Some hunters search for treasure, others animals, others people. Death note is widely known as a Japanese anime that is adapted from the manga series written by Tsugumi Ohba and illustrated by Takeshi Obata. The anime and the manga both follow the story of Light Yagami who is an exemplary high school student who happens to pick up a mysterious notebook that is not from Earth. He later discovers that the notebook itself is a Death Note that belongs to a God of Death otherwise known as a “Shinigami” named Ryuk. Light quickly discovers that the Death Note is no ordinary notebook and can grant it’s owner the power to kill anyone by merely writing a person’s name while simultaneously envisioning their face. The series continues through Light’s attempts at creating the perfect utopian world free of criminals as he kills them off using the Death Note.
